Lavern "Larry" N. Schmitt, Jr., 50, of Eden, New York died Sunday, April 2, 2012 after a short illness. He was born on October 9, 1961 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Rita (Hennessey) and late Lavern N. Schmitt, Sr. Larry graduated from Eden High school, Class of 1979. He married his loving wife Debby A. Gernold on September 14, 1991 in Orchard Park, NY. Larry was known for his hard work ethics, his big heart; willing to do anything for anyone, his love of his family, and his special love for his dog, Saber. Larry was also a member of local UAW 897
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Larry is predeceased by his father, Lavern N. Schmitt, Sr.
Larry is survived by his mother, Rita, his wife Debby (nee: Gernold), his children; Patrick and Kristin; his siblings; Diane (Jeffrey) Strong, Sharon (Michael) Timm, Michael Schmitt, and Craig Warner. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Family invites friends to call Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 5-8pm in the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 West Church Street Eden, NY 14057.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Eden, NY
Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial may be made to Hospice Foundation PO Box 590 Buffalo, NY 14240.
