The funeral ditoercr will be able to advise you on guestbooks and such. I have had to make arrangements for a number of loved ones that have passed away. Personally, I believe that most funerals are for the living, not the dead. They give people a chance to reflect and mourn while being able to lean on each other for support. While this is so often necessary, I believe a funeral or memorial service should be a celebration of the deceased's life. I have seen powerpoint presentations of photographs of the deceased enjoying life. To see fond memories made me grateful for the time we had together, and brought a warm smile to my heart in the saddest of times. Often, friends and relatives had addressed the mourners, retelling favorite stories, or even a favorite joke of their loved one.Ask yourself, What would he want? A fun loving man such as you describe would possibly be best memorialized in joy, rather than in grief.

Uncle Norman was to me a very special man who my family and I have loved deeply for years. He was one of the kindest, most selfless, caring and considerate human beings I've had the good fortune to know. Like his dear wife, Aunt Mildred (Kingsley), he was always interested in knowing what was going on in my family and I'm sure in the lives of all his other friends and family. Not to gather gossip, but because they were genuinely concerned. He was soft spoken, yet always engaging. A truly smart man who had wisdom and insight into life's challenges that others often lack. A gentle man. A man of faith and integrity. A man of prayer. A handsome man. A man easy to love. He will remain in my heart for the rest of my days and then, in God's good timing, I hope to shake that big, loving hand once again. Farewell, dear uncle. You've blessed our lives. Nephew Rod Bennett

Our heartfelt and deepest sympathy to the Brown Family from the entire Herzog Family. Mr. Brown was a kind, caring and compassionate neighbor, one of the "pioneers" of Evelyn Drive. He will be greatly missed, but not ever forgotten.

To the Brown Family: Our sincerest condolences on the loss of your wonderful father/grandfather! I will always remember Uncle Norman as the Uncle who was most like a loving teddy bear. When I introduced my daughter to him a few years ago, I was not surprised when she talked about him fondly after meeting him only once. He was loved by all and he enjoyed talking about his children and grandchildren. Our time of sadness is only for a season because we will be reunited in Heaven some day. Love and Prayers, Dan, Loy, Danica and Alexander

To the Brown family: Praying for God's indescribable peace to surround each one of you at this time. Though not able to be there physically, know that we are with you in heart and spirit. Uncle Norman was one amazing man, and we will always treasure the precious times we've had together, cherishing the wonderful stories he shared with us. Both he and Aunt Mildred touched so many lives in such a positive way, and were an incredible example of kindness, selflessness, and true humility. Their lives glorified God and now they are in His presence together!
