Obituary of Ruth A. Downey

Downey - Ruth B. Of Eden, on December 13, 2012, has joined her late husband Walter J. Downey. She was a loving mother to her children Maureen Downey, Fr. Kevin Downey,ofm, Tim [ Kathy ] Downey and Nanette [ William ] Kappus. Her life was enriched by six loving grandchildren, Brandon Kappus, Meghan Kappus, Shayne Kappus, Paul [ Kayla ] Downey, Jamie [ Jerry ] Liverseidge, Michael Downey; and three great grandchildren, Jeremiah Liverseidge, Hailey and Harper Downey. She was sister to Richard [ Yvonne ] Benzinger and the late Donald [ Anne ] Benzinger and aunt to nine nieces and nephews. Ruth's main priority in her life was her family, but she was also a successful Home Economics teacher for many years in the Eden school, active member of the Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed her friends with Eden Home Bureau, playing bridge and travel. There will be no prior visitation and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Any donations in her name, will be gratefully accepted to the Walter J.
