Richard L. "Richie" Mosher, 79, of Cattaraugus, NY, died Thursday August 29, 2013 in TLC-HN Nursing Facility Irving NY following an extended illness.
He was born November 5, 1933 in Lackwanna, NY the son of William G. and LaFrances (Lewis) Mosher. He attended schools in Orchard Park, NY and proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
On July 27, 1971 in Little Valley, NY he married his loving wife of over 42 years Patricia M. (Nordblum) Mosher.
He was a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel in Lackwanna, NY where he enjoyed working for over 34 years. Later in life he had worked for Gernatt Gravel Products in South Dayton, NY.
Mr. Mosher was a member of the Little Valley American Legion Post 531, a Life Member of the Springville VFW, a member of the Randolph Moose and the Cattatraugus Fireman's Club. He enjoyed hunting, and was an avid Euchre Player.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons William Mosher of Florida, Rickie (Anita) Mosher of South Dayton NY, 7 daughters Cindy Lee Wells of Oak Hill Fl, Jackie (Robert) Ellis of Leon NY, Debbie (Ron) Jedrysik of Sinclairville NY, Barbara (Greg) Hallett of Cattaraugus NY, Laura Bradley of Cattaraugus NY, Sandra Mosher of North Carolina and Rachele (Dan) Irish of Cattaraugus NY. 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren 2 brothers Alex McLellan of Little Valley NY, James (Pat) McLellan of Boston NY and 2 sisters Jean Hummel of North Boston NY, and Betty (Herb) Fiebelkorn of Hamburg NY also survive.
He was predeceased by his step mother Agnes Mosher, 2 Sons Gary "Bo" Tucholski and Joe Stworzdylak, 2 brothers Kenny Mosher, Donald McLellan, and 3 sisters Dorothy Mosher, Lil Scharf and Anna Stworzdlak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 7, 2013 at 11am in St. Mary's RC Church Cattaraugus NY. Rev. Joseph Porpiglia pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in Liberty Park Cemetery Cattaraugus NY, where full Military Honors will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Parkinsons Disease Association 135 Parkinson Ave. Staten Island, NY 10305.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Laing Funeral Home Eden, NY.
