Gilbert D. "Butch" Brockman, age, 71, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 03, 2013. He was born in Eden, New York on January 29, 1942. The son of late Gilbert F. and Bernice (Bragg) Brockman. He married his loving wife Sharon A. (nee: Romano) on July 20, 1963 in Immaculate Conception Church, Eden. He will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the great outdoors. He had a special love for his garden. Growing many vegetables, but was known for his tomatoes and his peppers. Butch enjoyed playing sports, especially football and baseball. At one time he played semi pro baseball. He followed the Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Sabers, and the Cincinnati Reds. He had three special companions; three dogs-Edie, Ace and Annabelle. His favorite color was green. From the color of his home to the cloths he enjoyed wearing; all had to be green. He worked as a mason with the Brockman Brother's and retired from the West Seneca Developmental Center. Butch was the devoted husband of Sharon A. (nee: Romano); the loving father of Brenda A. Atkinson and brother of Donald (late Marlene), late Gordon (Margaret), Clifford (Barbara) and Timothy Brockman, Sr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family invites friends to call Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden, NY.
