Jozef Jankowski, 92, of Orchard Park, NY passed away peacefully at his home on May 7, 2014. Born in Poland on May 1, 1922, he was a survivor of the Holocaust and proudly served his country. After marrying his wife, Catharina in 1950, they emigrated from the Netherlands to America with their young son, Peter. From the 1960s until the 1980s Jozef built a successful business, Jankowski Custom Kitchens located on Broadway in Sloan, NY. Jozef was a skilled craftsman, having built many homes in the western NY area. He also made musical instruments including violins and hammer dulcimers. He and had a strong love of music. Jozef and Catharina moved to Port St. Lucie Florida for over 10 years where he worked for Kegel and Stilli, designing bank interiors. Always a hard worker, it was not unheard of for Jozef to be on the roof fixing something even at age 90.
Jozef is survived by his wife of 64 years, Catharina, His son Emil (Patti) and his late son Peter (Georgiana). Jozef had 5 grandchildren, Nicole Bernard-Erb (Allen) Amy Tipton (Robin) Michael(Nicole) Kristina Kowalski (Tom) and David( Alicia) Jozef had 16 Great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00AM in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Eden, NY
