Obituary of Gregory L. Hallett

Gregory L. (Greg) Hallett, 64, of New Albion, died Tuesday September 24, 2019 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital Buffalo, NY, following a brief illness.

Greg was born June 23, 1955 in Gowanda, NY the son of Claude E and Wilma J. (Emke) Hallett.

He attended Pine Valley School and enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served his country.  After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Greg married his loving wife Barbara Lynn (Tucholski) Hallett on June 14, 1980.  He worked for various companies in the area but most recently owned his own business Hallett’s Auto Repair in Randolph, NY, where he served the area for over 25 years.  Greg enjoyed working on cars and was always willing to help his customers out.  He was always joking and liked to make people laugh.  Greg enjoyed hunting, racing and his most precious asset his three grandchildren who he adored.

Greg is survived by his wife Barb, a son Kyle G. (Vanessa) Hallett of Orchard Park, NY, two daughters, Kailene P. (Cody) Nelson of Olean NY and Karlie L. Hallett of New Albion.  His three loving granddaughters Aubrey Hallett, Eliza Hallett of Orchard Park and Addie Nelson of Olean survive.  Greg’s two sisters Claudia Cleveland of Randolph and Margie Toomer of Sanford NC survive.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Penny Lou Hallett in 1973.

At Greg’s request, visitation will not be observed.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday October 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Leon Fire Hall 12194 New Albion Rd. Conewango Valley, NY 14726.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gabriel G. Johnson of the Laing Funeral Home Inc., Eden, NY.
