Schmitz, Jerome F. April 6, 2020 of Eden, NY. Beloved husband of Lorraine (Preischel); devoted father of Wendy (Steve Zydel), Kevin, and Tracy (Kevin Durski); devoted grandfather of Katie, Kayley, Alyssa, and Kristen; loving brother of Charles (Ardiene), Fred (late Phyllis), Dorothy (James) Rawnsley, Martha (late Ed) Blackmer, Audrey (Ronald) MacNeil, Kenneth (Linda) Schmitz, Cynthia (late David) Gernatt, Lois (Bernhard) Johnson and the late Clifford (Cindy) Schmitz and Ophelia Olsen; also survived by many nieces and nephews.. Jerome “Porky” Schmitz also was very dedicated to the East Eden Volunteer Fire Company, he was a lifetime member who served in various capacities including chief from 1978 to 1980. Jerome enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as his dogs Jack and Maggie. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227 Due to the COVID-19 crisis no services will be held at this time.
