Obituary of Anthony T. Sessanna

Anthony T. Sessanna EAST EDEN, NY Anthony T. Sessanna age 85 of East Eden, NY passed away at home Saturday morning May 6, 2023 surrounded by family and love. Born in East Eden, NY July 14, 1937 the son of Thomas and Alice (Hartman) Sessanna. Anthony married the former Kathleen M. Schiedel April 30, 1960 at St. Mary’s RC church In East Eden, Kathleen Survives . Anthony honorably served his country with the National Guard. A rigger/ welder , Anthony retired from Bethlehem Steel in Lackawanna , he and his wife ran the former Multi- Copy Press in Eden for many years , Anthony also operated Sessanna Snowmobiles ( an Arctic Cat Franchise) for a number of years and he and Kathleen were instrumental in starting the Eden Trailblazer’s Snowmobile Club. Tony loved the outdoors especially gardening and was a rock and metal artisan , he was a skilled welder that displayed his artwork at home and with many friends. He also was a master mechanic when it came to an automotive issue Tony could figure it out . Besides being a member of St. Mary’s Oratory RC Church he also was a member of the Eden Sportsman’s Club. Surviving besides his loving wife Kathleen M. Sessanna of 63 years are their children ; Tammy A. Sessanna of Cheektowaga , Tracy A. (Kim) Kruger of Blasdell and Todd A. (Loralee) Sessanna of Hamburg. Seven grandchildren; T. J. , Nicholas , Tara, Katie, Taylor, Tess and Jacob along with 3 great grandchildren Madison, Charlie and Mason survive . Anthony is also survived by a sister Bonnie (Robert) Andres of East Eden and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Anthony was preceded in death by siblings; Thomas Sessanna, Daniel Sessanna, Carmella Chayan, Alice Rizzo, Joseph Sessanna and Robert B. Sessanna . Friends may call at the LAING FUNERAL HOME Inc. 2724 West Church St. From 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday May 11, 2023. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Mary’s Oratory RC Church 8175 East Eden Rd. East Eden, NY at 10:00am Friday May 12, 2023 ( please assemble at church) with burial to follow in the church cemetery . Fr. Jerry Skrzynski Celebrant.
