Obituary of Darlene J. Bennett

BENNETT-Darlene Joyce passed away peacefully at her home in Hamburg, NY on Oct. 19, 2023 at the age of 65. Darlene was the beloved daughter of Joyce Ann (Klien) and the late Edwin A. Walker. She is survived by her husband Thomas Richard, son Evan Jay Whitney (Destiny), daughter Nicole Joyce Whitney, sister Lynn Pelow, brother Edwin A. Walker Jr., numerous nieces, nephews and 11 grandchildren. Darlene grew up in Eden, NY and graduated from Eden Central Highschool in 1976. She was a dedicated homemaker, raising her children, later returning to work for Freightliner in Beaverton, Oregon and retired from Lincare in Blasdell, NY as an insurance billing reviewer in 2011. Darlene was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished the simple things in life, cooking, gardening, music, dancing, bird watching, long drives in the country, the Bills and Sabres and spending summers with her family at camp in Houghton, NY. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5-8PM at the Laing Funeral Home Inc 2724 W. Church St. Eden, NY followed by a graveside service held Sunday at 11AM in Eden Evergreen Cemetery Eden, NY.
