Obituary of Anne R. (Polasik) Watson

Anne R. (Polasik) Watson, 70, of Springville, NY, formerly of Conway, SC and Eden, NY passed away peacefully in her home on Monday January 29, 2024. Anne was born on January 17, 1954 in Buffalo, NY. One of seven children of the late Richard and Barbara (Buczkowski) Polasik. She graduated from Eden High School in 1972 and Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing in 1975. She had a 42-year career as a Registered Nurse devoted to neonatal intensive care, primary care, hospice, and oncology nursing. She retired from Coastal Cancer Center in 2017 and moved back to the Western New York area with her husband Gary. Anne enjoyed fishing with Gary, volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Delevan, annual trips with her siblings, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed several activities as a member of the Yorkshire Free Methodist Church, including quilting group, bible study, and helping with senior lunches. Anne is survived by her daughters Amanda Howles Miller (Benjamin) of Conway, SC; and Carrie Howles Thiel (Daniel) of Concord, NY; her sons Zack (Trisha) Watson of Avon, NC; and Bradley (Kim) Watson of Swansboro, NC; her siblings Jane (Gary) Panse of Juno, FL; Ruth (Harry) Mazujian of Monroe Township, NJ; John (Karen) Polasik of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Mary (Dewayne) McMullin of La Canada, CA; Kate (Jeffrey) Hagen of Towson, MD; and Afsaneh Ziaee Saleh (the late Shahriar) of Gaithersburg, MD; her grandchildren Ryan and Rachel Miller, Matthew and Joey Thiel, and Sarah Grace Watson; 18 nieces and nephews, 12 grand-nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband of 20 years, Gary Watson and her sister Grace Polasik. Services will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the Yorkshire Free Methodist Church (3172 Main St, Yorkshire, NY). Visitation will begin at 1pm with the service at 2pm. All are invited to attend a lunch at the church immediately following the service.
