Obituary of Ellen Congdon Bartoo

Bartoo- Ellen Congdon of Griffins Mills, New York, formerly of North Collins, New York, passed away on February 15, 2024 at the age of 89, minutes after her final Valentine’s Day birthday. Born Ellen Sarah Congdon on February 14, 1935 to the late Ivan Ray Congdon and Ruth Odell Congdon. She was the loving wife of George Olden Bartoo; beloved mother of Sarah Ellen Bartoo, James Conklin Bartoo, and the late John Olden Bartoo; adored grandmother of Melissa (Clifford) Short and Jessica (Robert) Smith; treasured great-grandmother of Henry Bartoo Smith and Molly Katherine Smith; sister of the late Jane (late Richard) Smurthwaite and the late Barbara (Robert) Stickney. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, February 18th from 4-8pm at the Laing Funeral Home Inc., 2724 W. Church St. Eden, New York. A service will also be held at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. on Monday, February 19th at 2pm. Burial will be private at Griffins Mills Cemetery.
