Obituary of Ruth E. Merritt

Ruth E. Merritt, 85, of East Randolph, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2012. She was born August 26, 1926 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Karl and Daisy Heib.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary; she had been elected to hold position in the local, County, District, and State offices for the VFW Auxiliary. She also enjoyed helping out the Corfu Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an office manager for the Elmwood Electric and Pump Company. Her family will remember her as an avid gardener and a fine seamstress. Most of all Ruth will be remember for the love of her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lowell L. Merritt, who passed April 2, 2006, a brother, Kenneth Heib and a sister, Virginia Rogers
She is survived by her children; Karl E. Merritt, Stephen D. (Sue) Merritt, Lowell L. (Amy) Merritt II, and Patricia M. (Rev. Rodney) Mileham;11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family invites friends to call at the East Randolph United Methodist Church, 122 Church St. Randolph, NY 14730 (P.O. Box 67 East Randolph, NY 14370) on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 9AM-11AM followed by a funeral service. Rev. Rodney Mileham, Pastor will officiate.
